ABOUT
clinical herbalist & nutritional health consultant
Hi, I’m Chris George.
Over 55 and feeling frustrated with your body? As a Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis sufferer it can seem like new symptoms crop up all of the time. Often your doctor doesn’t have time to hear all about your weird symptoms and only wants to write you a prescription and see you again in 3-6 months for new lab work and a 10 minute visit. It’s easy to start feeling helpless in regard to your autoimmune condition.
As a Hashi’s sufferer myself, I’ve learned that it doesn’t have to be that frustrating and you can take steps to feel less overwhelmed. Our bodies, when supplied with sufficient nutrients and a healthy lifestyle, respond in a very positive way. Additionally, herbs have been used for centuries to support the body’s natural pathways of repair and restoration. But don’t expect herbs to mask symptoms like prescription drugs, the active constituents in herbs work gently over time to support body systems and help bring the body back into balance. Once in balance the body can work toward health. This picture of me is a couple of years old, it was taken before I stopped dying my hair and embraced my gray locks. No longer dying my hair was one of the steps I chose to take to reduce toxins in my environment lessening the burden on my liver.
If you are looking for specific ways you can change your nutrition, diet, lifestyle and manage stress you are in the right place. As a Clinical Herbalist and Nutritional Health Consultant I can offer you education and support as well as recommend lifestyle changes that will help you to manage your Hashimoto’s symptoms and work toward your health goals. Nutrition and herbs aren’t magic, change takes patience and a phased approach. If you are done feeling frustrated and ready to work toward a more healthy you, take a look at my Services Page, I look forward to working with you.

How We Work Together
We will meet online either through TeleHealth or Zoom on the Practice Better website, my practice management platform. As a new client we will meet for two one hour visits (about a week apart) plus a follow-up visit a month later. We will work together to develop a plan/protocol that includes dietary and lifestyle changes, supplements and herbal formulas organized in a phased-in approach to address your personal health goals.
1:1 Consultations
I offer Comprehensive Consultations that include two 1 hour visits plus a 1/2 hour follow-up visit. The initial consultation is completed in two visits about a week apart. During your first visit we will review and discuss your health goals together and go over your completed health questionnaire. About a week later we will meet again for your second visit to discuss and review a phased plan for you going forward.
Follow-up Visits
Follow-up visits are designed for us to discuss your progress implementing various recommendations, assess how various herbs and/or supplements are working (or not working) and implement additional phases of your personalized plan. One follow-up visit is included with your new client Comprehensive Consultation, we typically schedule this follow-up for about 1 month following your 2nd visit to give you time to implement various strategies from your protocol.
Group Discussions
Active clients are encouraged to participate in monthly group Zoom calls for additional support managing their Hashimoto’s. These open discussions are optional but can be very valuable. Having a community of like-minded people to support and nuture you can be invaluable. The group is a place where we can share our successes and our challenges with following our personalized protocols.
Reach out with any questions.
Please reach out to me via my Contact page with any questions you may have. I’ll be happy to answer them. If you are ready to book your Comprehensive, send me an email and I will send you an invitation to get set up as a client on Practice Better, my Practice Management platform.
